CD-IELTS International English Testing System, IELTS, is a paper based test whereas the CD-IELTS is computerized version of the same paper based IELTS exam. Computer-Delivered International English Language Testing System is an alternative to IELTS. Here the candidates will be provided with rough paper and pencil to make notes.

CD-IELTS is also offered in two formats- General Training and Academic Training and covers same modules- reading, listening, speaking and writing. Speaking test is conducted in same pattern as it is in IELTS, face-to-face with an IELTS examiner rest things are computerized. With CD-IELTS there are more test dates as compared to IELTS. The candidates appearing for CD-IELTS will receive their results within 5-7 days. The exam composition is same in both kinds of IELTS. You will be getting same content, timing and structure.
