Came into effect in 2009 by Pearson Language Test

PTE (Pearson Test of English) is the English language test which is also used to evaluate the English proficiency of students. This test is highly accepted by the universities, colleges and governments around the world. The test is the most unbiased proof of applicant’s English skills. It is a computer-based test and is of 3 hours duration. The test is categorized into three parts i.e. Speaking and writing (together), listening and reading.
